How do we locate previous versions of the API? E.g. v5.3.

You will find the 5.3 version of the Java API References at http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/5-3/developing/java_api_reference.html and javadoc at http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/5-3/javadoc/index.html.

Moreover, you can easily browse previous versions of the documentation from the Overview webpage http://dev.day.com/docs/en.html (see CQ Releases section)
