What's included in CQ 5.5 Service Pack 1?

CQ 5.5 Update is an important update that includes previously released security, performance, and stability updates for CQ 5.5. Update 1 also includes key customer fixes/enhancements in CQ 5.5, such as a improved support for Thumbnail generation of CMYK EPS files in DAM.

Fixes include:

  • CQ5-8871: XMP property (aux:ISO) is now set on Asset Import

Caution

A regression has been reported for this CQ Update: Vanity-URL changes made from the Page-Properties dialog in CQ Site-Admin may cause incidents regarding Sling Vanity-URL mappings. The workaround is to avoid using this dialog for this purpose and to launch the Page-Properties dialog from Side instead. This product issue is tracked under CQ5-18787 and will be fixed for the next Service Update Pack.

Setup Requirements

  • Update 1 applies to CQ 5.5. You must upgrade your CQ instance if it is an earlier version, please see upgrade documentation for detailed instructions.
  • Make sure that you have a fresh backup of your CQ instance before you install Update 1.
  • Update 1 is a CQ Package and can be installed as such. Please see PackageManager documentation for detailed instructions. The Update 1 download is available on Adobe PackageShare, you can download and install it directly from your CQ 5.5 instance.
  • You may want to verify that none of your custom project code will be overwritten with the installation. To do so, you can use the "Dry-Run" option in CQ PackageManager, which simulates the installation for you.
  • The installation process will ask you to restart the system. In some cases, this info is shown while the system is still processing bundle installations in the background. It is strongly recommended to wait until CQ was able to install all bundles before restarting the system, you can check bundle status in the OSGI console of your CQ instance.
  • If you have a fresth CQ5 setup: Restart your CQ 5.5 instance before installing the Update.

Setup & Operation Instructions

Please verify a successful installation of Update 1 by testing your CQ application & content. If you see any issues:

  • Make sure that OSGI bundles has the status ACTIVE in the OSGI Console.

Caution:

  • The XMP metadata write-back feature from DAM is not supported on Oracle Solaris, IBM AIX and HP-UX.
  • In-place Editing is not supported on Google Chrome and Apple Safari browsers.
  • The authoring user interface makes use of various HTML5 features such as drag&drop, multi-file upload, geo location. These features are not supported when the browser in use does not support these HTML5 features, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer.
  • Installations on Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.5 might show page rendering problems due to conflicting of installed library versions. Please see installation instructions in documentation.
