Your Day JCR Cup 08 Team

There have been enquiries from participants of the JCR Cup which Sling version the submitted applications should work on. Well, there have been some improvements and fixes in Sling since we released the last version of CRX Quickstart, so you can submit applications

  • either for the released versions of CRX Quickstart

  • or CRX Quickstart manually updated according to the procedure described in this post. If you decide the go this route you need to also provide the Sling svn version number you used and send us the (binary) bundles you updated.

It's been published in a press release already, but I'd like to make sure everyone gets the message: we have extended the deadline for submitting entries to the JCR Cup. The contest will now run through 12:00am PT, September 30, 2008.

Meanwhile, we are happy and excited to report that the download count for CRX Quickstart is up well over one hundred. Also, there has been a number of nice folks mentioning the Cup in their blogs (for example Todd Hauser, Shaun Johnson, and Seth Gottlieb). Thank you for the feedback, guys!

By the way, if you have any technical questions the best place to post them is on CRX's mailing list.

Janne Jalkanen, of JSPWiki fame, helped us catch an issue with wording of our contest rules.

Many thanks for pointing out this issue and your comments. Indeed, it was not our intention to demand such terms. We will neither re-use, nor extend nor sell a submitted entry. Unfortunately, our product management team overlooked that licensing section.

We already changed that section. The terms now comply with the purpose of the Day JCR Cup that aims to promote state-of-the-art content repository technology and a rapid application development framework, gather feedback from the developers' community, present the best applications submitted by the participants and announce a winner.

We appreciate the open source community communication in helping us uncover what in a busy world we overlooked. Not just on the code side. And we look forward to further constructive interactions.

We apologize for the mistake and we thank you once again for having provided valuable feedback. Thanks, Janne!
